Torres Del Paine National Park lies on the southern edge of the Patagonia ice cap and is one of Chile's most spectacular national parks. The massive granite towers of the 'Cuernos del Paine' dominate the magnificent landscape. The park is a wonderland of snow-capped mountains, rugged granite peaks, beautiful waterfalls, glacier-fed lakes, Magellanic forests and open pampas. Our camping adventure begins with a drive from El Calafate in Argentina, across the frontier to Chile. In the days to follow we will trek to the base of the mighty Towers, stand in awe of the Grey glacier, trek between the granite walls of the spectacular French Valley and enjoy encounters with wild guanacos and giant nandues. Everywhere around you the dramatic scenery is spellbinding. Finally we return to El Calafate to witness the slow, torturous advance of the magnificent Perito Moreno glacier.
