Located atop a hill next to Gnana Saraswati Temple, Vyasa Maharshi Cave is a sacred site cum tourist attraction in Basar, Telangana. This cave is dedicated to the author of the great Indian epic Mahabharata, Sage Vyasa. It is said that this cave was chosen by him for meditation. He was accompanied by his disciple, Sage Suka. An idol of Vyasa Muni has been established inside the cave that has turned it into a sacred site. Every day, various followers of Maharshi Vyasa visit this place and pay respects to the saint.

1) In the ancient times, the region of Basar was known as Vyasapuri. As the times advanced, its name changed from Vyasapuri to Vasar and now it is Basar
2) The surroundings of this cave attract the attention of the visitors and thus, it is one among the most visited sites in Basar, Telangana
3) A small waterfall named Saraswati Waterfall is located near this cave. The people claim that the waters of this fall are divine and taking a dip can make a person get rid of his sins
