Located in Aihole (Karnataka), Jyotirlinga Temple Group is a well-known tourist site located in the Indian state of Karnataka. As its name suggests, this temple group is dedicated to Lord Shiva and houses different temples from small to medium in size. Most of the temples are in a ruined state at present. According to some historians, this temple complex was constructed during the reign of Rashtrakuta dynasty.

Jyotirlinga Temple Group is a popular tourist site because it is a holy complex in its own kind. Since Rashtrakuta dynasty was a keen devotee of Lord Shiva, they devoted this entire complex to him. Different Shivalingas were built representing the Jyotirlingas all over India. Apart from Shivalingas, the rock-carved idols of other Hindu religious figurines like Lord Ganesha, Kartikeya, Ardhanareeswara etc. can be seen. A set of Nandi idols in Nandi Mandapa are located within this complex as well.

Reaching There:-
Aihole can be best reached via roadways. The state-run buses ply in plenty on a daily basis for commuting to and from the city. Aihole doesn’t have its own railway station and airport.
