Tijara Jain temple: An architectural masterpiece
An Adorned with intricate sculptures, ancient paintings an elaborate carvings, Tijara Jain temple is no less than an architectural masterpiece. With magnificent arches, pillars and a sky-high pinnacle, Tijara Jain temple looks stunning. The interior of the temple is decorated with exquisite glasswork, exquisite carvings and colorful paintings depicting mythological stories. The big hall inside the temple has a capacity to accommodate 2000 persons at a time. History:
The temple was established in 1956 following the recovery of a statue of the main deity Chandra Prabhu Bhagwan, the eighth Tirthankar of the Jain community. The idol of Chandra Prabu was retrieved from underground and was installed on the 3rd day of Vishakha Shukla 1554, as per the inscription. Made of white marble stones, the beautiful statue of Chandra Prabhu Bhagwan is approximately 15 feet high. In 1972, another 8 inches idol of Chandra Prabhu was discovered in lotus position which is black in color. The second idol was found under the supervision of Pujya Acharya Nirmal Sagarji Maharaj. The place regained as a pilgrimage after both the idols were installed.

The beautiful temple is open to everyone and can be visited at any time of the year. To avoid the scorching heat, it is recommended to plan a trip to Tijara between October and March as the weather remains pleasant during that time.

Located 110 km from Delhi and 55 km from Alwar, Tijara Jain temple is accessible by train, flight or bus via Delhi and Alwar. The nearest airport is Jaipur airport at a distance of 143 km and the closest railhead in Alwar station. A wide network of bus services link is also available.
