Bagalkot is a town located in the Indian state of Karnataka. In the historical times, this town had its connection with the empire of Sri Lanka ruled by Ravana. Later on, Ravana was successfully able to conquer this region but soon abandoned it due to its barren land. That was history but today it is a famous tourist site in Karnataka.
Bagalkot is located at a height of 1,749 feet above the sea level and stands on the banks of the River Ghataprabha. The climate of this town is classified as subtropical in nature. Bagalkot experiences humid summers as the median temperature scales between 35°C-41°C. During the winter season, the mercury level drops down and range between 15°C-24°C. The annual rainfall level usually varies between 2600-3300 mm.
