Military Mahadeva Temple requires no formal introduction. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the slayer of ghouls, in Hinduism. As per its name, this temple is owned and managed by the Indian Military of the Southern Command. It was built in the year 1954 and was opened to the public in 1955. This Shiva temple is a huge crowd puller and is visited by numerous devotees.

1) Military Mahadeva Temple is managed by the Indian Army and is counted among the cleanest Hindu Temples in Karnataka.
2) It houses a black Shivalinga under the shade of a seven-hooded snake.
3) It is surrounded by the lush green gardens that are adorned with the towering trees and a beautiful blanket of the grass.
4) There are different swings installed in the park that keep the children busy.
5) Mondays and the sacred day of Maha Shivaratri witness a huge footfall. The Panchamrut Abhishekam is done on these days.

Military Mahadeva Temple is a huge crowd puller in Belgaum. This Hindu shrine catches the attention of all Shaivaites across Karnataka. It can be visited throughout the year but to make the visit rewarding, one can choose the day of Maha Shivaratri.
The entry to the temple is free and photography is allowed.
Watch Out!
Do not litter the temple premises with the packets of incense sticks, dhoop, and other things. This shrine is maintained by the army and should be respected like every other Hindu temple. Similarly, the garden shouldn’t be littered with the garbage.
