Bhandara is small city in Maharashtra that is escalated with a total area of 18 sq. km. The place was ruled by different dynasties like Haihaya Rajputs, Sataras, Bhonsles, Peshwas and later on by the Mughals. So it would not be wrong in saying that the place is rich in gloating architectural marvels that depict an amalgamation of different cultures.
Bhandara is elevated at a height of 800 feet and different small streams flow through it. This gives it the name of 'District of Lakes'. The temperature of Bhandara is moderately hot throughout the year and summers are not bearable. The mercury shoots up till 45° C during the day and falls just 2-3 degrees down. The winter season is also not as strong as expected and days remain warm but pleasant and nights become cool.
The area of Bhandara has sufficient presence of natural ores, especially brass and many industries have been setup in Bhandara. Ashok Leyland, BHEL, Ellora paper mill, manganese ore mines are the notable names in Bhandara area.
