Lakhi Jungle

Located around 15kms away from Bathinda, on the way to Muktsar, is a forest that shelters an ancient Gurudwara which holds utmost importance to the Sikhs. It is believed that Guru Nanak Devji delivered one lakh holy sermons or holy paths to his disciple Shri Japuli Sahib; hence, giving the jungle its unique name Lakhi Jungle. In fact, Guru Teg Bahadur, the 9th Sikh Guru, and Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh Guru has also made this place pious with his holy visit. Sikh devotees make it a point to visit this place on their way to Muktsar or whenever they visit Bathinda owing to its sacred connections with Sikhism.

It Is Known For:-
1)    The holy Gurudwara where Guru Nanak Devji delivered one lakh sermons to his disciple Shri Japuli Sahib.

2)    The excursion through the dense forest giving an adventurous touch to this religious place of worship.

3)    An ancient and famous banyan tree which seems to have some connections with Guru Nanak Devji while he was on his stay here.

Reaching There:-
The Lakhi Jungle is easily accessible by road. People can take their own vehicle through the jungle to visit the Gurudwara inside. Cabs and taxis can also be taken to this jungle for a half day excursion.
