Also known by the name of Jami Masjid, Jama Mosque of Bijapur is a magnificent tourist site in Karnataka. It is a mosque that was erected in the bygone times under the reign of Yusuf Adil Shah, a ruler of the Adil Shah dynasty. This mosque is said to be the largest mosque ever built in the empire of the Adil Shah and was constructed in the memory of the victory of Adil Shah Dynasty over Vijayanagara. At present, it is one of the prime attractions that are visited on a huge scale.

1) Jama Masjid Bijapur is known for its beauteous architecture. It is an amalgam of the Indo-Islamic style of architecture.
2) The interior walls of the mosque are bedecked with the abstract patterns and carvings. The gates of the mosque’s hallway are adorned with the motifs.
3) The ceiling of the mosque is also carved beautifully.
4) On the interior walls, there are some psalms from the Holy Quran engraved with the name of Allah.
5) The festival of Eid is celebrated here with a great zest.
