Anandwan translates to the ‘Forest of Joy’ and was established by a noted social-activist, Lt. Murlidhar Devidas Amte aka Baba Amte. It is an ashram that was established for the welfare of the lepers. This place still provides medical help to the underprivileged, orphans, and blinds.
