Nargona Palace is a famous and historic travel attraction in Darbhanga, Bihar. It served as the home to the Royals of Khandwala dynasty. Nargona Palace gained popularity on the basis of its simple architecture. It fell down in a destructive earthquake that hit Bihar in 1934. The whole palace faced destruction as Moti Mahal was entirely destroyed. It took a whole year for the rebuilding of this huge building.
Why Is It Famous?
Nargona Palace stole the spotlight due to its sober architecture. The present-day architecture is different from the former structure. It is sturdy and has a massive potential to withstand a massive earthquake.
This building was donated to the government in the year 1972 for educational purposes. Lalit Narayan Mithila University operates from here.
