Batasia Loop is a spiral railway in Darjeeling. This loop is commonly known as the Toy Train Line because the Toy Train passes and ascends the slope through this loop. It was commissioned in the early 19th century during the British rule in India. If a person stands on one side of the loop, a beautiful view of the Toy Train whistling and ascending downhill can be seen. This place also offers an enchanting view of the mighty snow-clad peaks of Kanchenjunga.

1) Batasia Loop is known for the Batasia War Memorial. This memorial was built to commemorate the Gorkha soldiers of Darjeeling that were martyred during the Indian freedom struggle

3) This entire loop is considered as the engineering masterpiece because descending downhill 140 feet spherically is not an easy job for a train
