Barbarua Maidam or Barbarua Maidan is a well-known travel destination in Dibrugarh, Assam. It is a huge park that unfolds over acres of land. In the bygone times, the Barbarua Maidan was the graveyard for the royalty and aristocrats. The royal courtiers and family members of the ruling clan were buried in the graveyard. The other side was dedicated to the lay the soldiers in peace. However, the things changed with time and today, Barbarua Maidam is a public site.
Why Is It Famous?
Barbarua Maidam rose to fame due to its history. It served as the final resting place for the courtiers and soldiers. Two sections in the ground were divided for laying the dead to rest. Even today, the ground houses the same old tale but is used by the public. People visit the place for walking, exercising, playing sports, and organizing local gatherings.
