Hoshangabad is a city that rests in the heart of the country Madhya Pradesh. In the previous times, Hoshangabad was known by the name of Narmadapuram as it is entrenched on the banks of River Narmada. When the ruler Hoshang Shah came to power, he built a fort and changed the name from Narmadapuram to Hoshangabad and hence, it became the official name of this city.
