Kuldhara, Jaisalmer, known as the ghost town of India, is one of the most important tourist attractions in the entire state of Rajasthan. History :
There is a very long history that goes around the Kuldhara fort or village. It is believed that many centuries back, this village was inhabited by over 1500 Paliwal Brahmins. They lived in this village for over five centuries with full peace and comfort. However, one night, the entire population of the village vanished, leaving back a deserted village that is not cursed and haunted. While there is no certain reason as to why the Paliwals vanished, it is believed that there was an evil Prime Minister Salim Singh who wanted to marry the Paliwal Brahmin girl without her consent. They asked for some time and left the village while cursing that no one would be able to inhabit the village ever again.

It is obvious that Rajasthan remains super hot during the summer season. So, it is advised to all tourists to avoid traveling here during the summer season. You can visit here between the months of October and March to enjoy the beauty of the town while walking around comfortably without getting tired by the sun.
How to Reach
Located around 17 km from the main town of Jaisalmer, Kuldhara is easily accessible from any part of Jaisalmer. Once you have reached Jaisalmer via air, road, or train, you can easily take a cab or taxi and reach Kuldhara village. Any cab would take you to the entry gate of Kuldhara town.

Make sure that you have left the village before sunset. The entry fee for Kuldhara is just 10 Rs and if you are going by car inside the town, you need to give away 50 Rs for the same.
