Yawal sanctuary is situated in the Yamal Tehsil, in the district of Jalgaon. The sanctuary spreads towards the north along the Manjal River and the Anner River in Madhya Pradesh. The sanctuary covers the part of the western Satpuda hills and has a quite diverse vegetation cover.
Flora- The place abounds in natural vegetation cover and comprises of various species of plants and trees that are hard to find somewhere else. Some of the common species of trees found here are Teak, Anjan, Ain, Tiwas, Awala, Shisam, Khair, Haldu, Salai, Charoli, Tendu, Jamun, Bamboo and many more.
Fauna- One can see a wide array of animals here at Yawal sanctuary. Some of the commonly seen animals include Tiger, Wild dog, Hyena, Wolf, Nilgai, arking deer, Palm civet, Flying squirrel, Jungle cat, Chinkara, Leopard, Fox, Sambar, Sloth bear, Wild boar etc. Due to the presence of the Suki Lake, one can see various types of birds that include both residential birds as well as migratory birds.
