Khargone is township cum emerging commercial hub in Madhya Pradesh. The place was known as Nimar or Nimarya in the foregone times. According to the legends, there were plenty of neem trees that gave this name to Khargone. Another legend states that the rulers of Khargone in previous times belong to both races of Aryans and Non-Aryan hence, gave it the name Nimarya.
Khargone is hoisted at a height of 846 above sea level and cover an area of 8030 sq. km. It is surrounded by Indore in North, Maharashtra in South, Khanda in East and Barwani in West. Khargone has a tropical arid climate due to which the summers perceive an average temperature of 35°C and winters witness an average mercury level at 18°C. Khargone receives a sufficient amount of rainfall during the rainy season.
Khargone gloats 100 alluring temples in its vicinity. The visitors and locals flock to these temples regularly. Also, one can enjoy the Navgrah fair that is dedicated to the nine planets. This fair is attended by a large number of people. There are different markets as well from where the visitors can collect the souvenirs.
