Located about 14 km away from Sangla and 10 km far from Chitkul, Rakcham is a quaint village in Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh. Covered with dense vegetation and surrounded by mountains, Rakcham offers a sight to behold. Pronounced as "Rakshyam" by the locals this nomadic village offers a stunning panoramic view of the entire Baspa valley, lush green fields with alpine trees, apple orchards along the mountain slopes and the sky-scrapping peaks of the Himalayas. With a beautiful trekking route along the Baspa valley till Chitkul, Rakcham is a hidden treasure trove for adventure lovers. Situated at an altitude of 2900 meters, this remote hull station has a couple of hotels and PWD guest house for accommodation.
With a population of approximately 800 people, Rakcham is disconnected from the rest of the world and just has a couple of shops selling basic necessities.
