Located in Malappuram, Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is a famous sanctuary in Kerala. It is a residence of a variety of avifauna and spreads across small islets near the Laccadive Sea. It is elevated 660 feet above the sea level and also houses more than 60 species of the migratory birds including the sandpiper, heron, flamingo, gulls etc. The native bird species that are found here are the Brahminy kite, kingfisher, geese etc.

The best time to visit Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is between January-April and mid-August-December. During this time, the chances to spot the migratory birds are higher as compared to rest of the months.

To reach Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary, you just need to hire the reasonable service of the local buses or cabs that ply to Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary. The bus/cab will drop near the sanctuary and tourists have to cover a short distance by walking.
