Originating from the Western Ghats, Kallai or Kallayi River is one of the popular rivers in Kerala. It originates from a high altitude of 148 feet and flows 40 km. covering the regions of Cherukulathur, Kovur, and Olavanna before merging with the Laccadive Sea.
It Is Known For:-
1) In the previous times, this river served as the local route for delivering timber. The Arabs and Portuguese used this route for reaching Kozhikode port and take the timber logs.
2) Tourists can enjoy boating and can swim in Kallai River
