Langza Valley in Lahaul and Spiti is not a place that you can visit at any point in time. The winters in Langza can get very harsh as the temperature goes below as low as -20 degrees and that too completely dry. The entire region of Langza valley gets covered in a blanket of snow during the winters and it is hard to reach. Summers can get very hot as well because the altitude is extremely high. The intensity of sunlight that reaches you at such an altitude is very high. Even the monsoon season is not very right to visit the Langza valley as the roads the take you to this region experience a number of landslides. Keeping all these things in mind, it won’t be wrong to say that the best time to visit Langza valley largely depends on the route you are planning to take and the mode of transport you have chosen.
How to Reach
Langza village in the Lahaul & Spiti Valley is one of the remotest villages in India that cannot be reached easily. You need to reach Kaza first to reach the Langza. From Manali, to reach Kaza, you can take the HRTC bus and just an hour’s drive from Kaza, you can reach Langza. If you are coming from Shimla, you need to reach Reckong Peo and another bus to reach Kaza. Many people even love to walk the 16 kilometers long stretch to get some adventure. If you are driving, you can take different routes from Manali, Shimla, Chandigarh, and even Chandratal. However, it is imperative that you have the required experience to drive through the rough terrains of the Himachal mountains.
