Tiger Cave is a famous tourist spot in Mahabalipuram. It is not a cave for the majestic feline creature but a large rock-carved ancient Hindu temple. It dates back to the period of Pallavas and got its name due to the carvings of the tiger heads. Tiger Cave is a monument of national interest and is protected and managed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). It is visited by the tourists, including foreign nationals, on a huge scale.

4) The exterior walls of Subrahmanya Temple holds the beautiful carvings of Goddess Durga and Lord Shiva

Tiger Cave is one of the must-see attractions in Mahabalipuram. It is visited by the people on a large scale throughout the year, depending on their convenience. However, the best time to visit this site is between October-February.
