Sunken Garden is a lush green garden in the district of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. It is an amazing place that is located in the foothills of the Dhauladhar Ranges. Why Is It Famous?
Sunken Garden is a famous destination and has an interesting history. It is said that this garden was the place where Raja Sidh Sen, the king of Mandi, killed his own son-in-law, Raja Prithi of Bhangal. His corpse was buried in this park itself. Though the exact reason for the murder is unknown, the historians claim that Raja Prithi had an evil eye on Mandi Empire and wanted to gain the throne for his personal needs.
At present, this garden is adorned with the beautiful circumjacent and a lake where the activity of boating can be relished.
