Mattupetti, Madupetty, and Mattupetty- all three names are correct. Mattupetti is a beautiful hill town in Munnar (Kerala) and is known for housing various attractions. One of the must-see places there is Mattupetti Dam. Mattupetti Dam is a storage concrete dam. It was constructed between 1949-1953 for the purpose of conserving the water and generating hydroelectricity. Presently, it lures tourists on an extensive scale.

Munnar has a wider network of railways and roadways. Thus, you can reach Mattupetti Dam either by bus or by hiring a cab. After reaching the town of Mattupetti, you can reach the dam by walking a short distance.
