Namchi is a beautiful district in Sikkim. The name Namchi means 'Sky High' in Sikkimese. It is a picturesque destination that has transformed into a tourist spot over the years due to its emerald green serene ambiance. Also, it is the place that gloats the biggest and most important Rinpoche monastery and Shiva temple.
Set amidst the green nature, Namchi is beckoned by the majestic Kanchenjunga peaks and is carved out beautifully in the hilly regions. Such pure ambiance keeps the atmosphere of the place cool. The summer season experiences and average temperature of 28° C throughout the season and winters bring a downfall in mercury level. The temperature falls at 0° C and at times snow fall is experienced.
There are various destinations in Namchi. The Rinpoche Monastery, Mahadeva Temple, Ravangla, Temi Tea Garden, Ngadak Monastery, Rock Garden etc. that are frequented by the visitors on a large scale.
