The Sundarnarayan Temple in Nashik is counted among one of the oldest Hindu temples. It was built by Gangadhar Yashwant Chandrachud in the year 1756. The ruling deity of this temple is Lord Vishnu who is incarnated as Sundarnarayan. The sanctum of the temple also comprises of idols of Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Lakshmi who are worshipped with Lord Vishnu. This temple is situated at the corner of Ahillyabai Holkar Bridge and attracts thousands of pilgrims on a daily basis. An interesting fact about this temple is that on the 21st of March, the rays of the rising sun directly fall on the idols placed in the sanctum. This temple is a stellar example of the excellent temple art culture that thrived in Medieval India. Hues of Mughal architecture are also reflected in the temple. The temple walls are carved with many Hindu gods like Hanuman, Indira, and Narayana etc. The paintings and sculptures located inside the temple premise, balconies, mandaps, and corridor are also a delight for the eyes.

Other than that the different festivals related to Lord Vishnu like Gokul Ashtami, Diwali etc., are celebrated with pomp in this temple. So visiting during this time would also be ideal.
