Formerly known by the name of Jayalalitha Rose, Government Rose Garden of Ooty is a famous botanical garden in the hill town. It is located on the Elk Hill in Vijayanagar and houses 20,000 roses. This rose garden was established in the year 1995 and spans an entire area of 4 hectares. Maintained by Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department, Rose Garden is visited by locals and tourists extensively.
