Godavari Bridge is like a regular bridge that reduces the gap between two places. Godavari Bridge is a truss bridge that stands on the river Godavari and has a vast length of 4 km. This truss bridge is a road-cum-rail bridge and was opened to the public in the year 1974. Also called as the 'Pride of Rajahmundry', this bridge is one of the renowned symbols of Rajahmundry.

Its Construction:-
Braithwaite, Burn & Jessop Construction Company was the architect of the Godavari Bridge. Initially, this bridge was constructed as a rail passage truss to bridge the gap between Kovvur and Rajahmundry but due to the local needs, a road link construction plan was also presented. It took a time of 5 years to accomplish the construction of the road link between Kovvur and Rajahmundry. The government of Andhra Pradesh supplied the funds and finally, this bridge was inaugurated in the year 1974 by the former President of India, late Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed.
