Sibsagar aka Sivsagar that literally translates into "The ocean of Lord Shiva" is a beguiling town located in the Indian State of Assam. In the former times, it was ruled by the Ahom dynasty for 6 centuries and was known by the name of Rangpur. During their reign, various architectures were erected. Though they are in a ruined state today, they still have the charm to attract visitors.

This river flows close to Sibsagar and acts as a major source for the irrigation of land. The climate of this region is described as a subtropical in nature.
