Srinagar is also known as the ‘Venice of the East’. Every inch of the landscape has unmatched beauty which is not to be missed. Tourists should surely enjoy the Shikara ride in Dal Lake. Other lakes to visit are Nigeen Lake and Wular Lake-the largest fresh water lake in India.
The Mughal Gardens in Srinagar are just near the Dal Lake. There are gardens, namely Chesmashahi, Nishat and Shalimar which have cascading fountains, bright and blooming flowerbeds, manicured lawns and a panoramic view of the lake. These gardens have been featured in many Hindi films.
