Originating from the northern slope of Sela pass, Nuranang falls plunges into the Tawang river. If myths are to be believed, Nuranang falls is named after a tribal Monpa girl, Nura who probably had helped an Indian rifleman, Jaswant Singh Rawat, a Maha Vir Chakra awardee soldier during the Sino-India war in 1962 by supplying arms and giving him shelter.

• By road: Regular ASPRTC and private bus service are available from Tawang to reach Nuranang falls. Travelers can hire a cab from Tawang to Bomdila and en-route stop at Nuranang Falls.
• By rail: The nearest railhead at Tezpur is well connected to Tawang and Bomdila by road. One can hire a car or a bus for Bomdila or Tawang to reach Nuranang falls.
