Taktsang Gompa, Tawang is located in the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh. Standing amongst high mountains at an altitude of approximately 12,500 feet to 13,000 feet on the top of a hill and feels like overhang. The name 'Taktsang Gompa' closely or you can say exactly means the Tiger's Den. It is one of the holiest Buddhist memorials of Arunachal Pradesh. How to Reach There
Taktsang Gompa is situated around 40 kilometers from Tawang city and very near to Tsangestar Lake which is 3 km away. To reach here one needs to drive from Guwahati by road for two hours. You can also travel by your own personal vehicle through Bumla pass. At the end of the road, turn towards the Sangetsar Lake. From Sangetsar Lake, drive for another 15 – 20 minutes to reach your destination Taktsang Gompa, a prominent attraction of Arunachal Pradesh

The Sangestsar lake, which is crossed on the way to Gompa and it’s near about 3Kms away from it. After visiting the Taktsang, you can get back and visit the beauty of Sangestsar lake, a perfect sightseeing place. The lake became famous after the actress Madhuri Dixit shot a song here. This is why the lake is also known as Madhuri Lake.
