Tansa Lake is located in Thane district in Konkan region of Maharashtra. The lake is the main source of water supply for the city of Mumbai and has a capacity to store 3 million gallons of water. It supplies 300 thousand gallons of water every day to Mumbai through specially laid pipelines. It is a pleasant place for a daylong excursion.
