The main deity of Lord Shiva is facing east and is in anger state (Rowdra Roop).

Later, to reduce the anger of Lord Shiva, an idol of Lord Vishnu was also installed near the main deity of Lord Shiva. Pooja Timings of this temple is from 4 am to 8.30 pm. The temple has a unique dress code, where traditional dress for men and women. It is considered to be one of the famous temples in Kerala.

Festival:

The temple hosts an annual function of 10 days long in the month of February-March. It also celebrates many other festivals, but the annual gathering is the key attraction with people visiting the temple in large numbers from across the different parts of the country. The two festivals are most important for this temple as Shivaratri and Thiruvathira.
