Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the famous tourists’ attractions in Assam. It is the sole rainforest in Assam and covers a vast space in the districts of Tinsukia and Dibrugarh. It spans a total area of 111.19 sq. km. and was declared a sanctuary in the year 2004 by the state government. The extensions of this wildlife park are also found in Tirap & Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh. This extended area serves as an elephant reserve.
