Padmakshi Temple, or Padmakshi Gutta Temple, is a famous Hindu temple in the region of Hanamkond in Telangana. It stands amid the oldest temples in Telangana because it was built in the 12th century under the reign of the Kakatiya clan. It is dedicated to the Goddess Padmakshi who is considered as a form of Shakti. Every day, this shrine is visited by devotees but the footfall increases on the occasion of Bathukamma.
It Is Known For:-
1) Padmakshi Temple was built as a Jain Temple but was converted into the Hindu Temple after the rulers converted to Veerasaivam. It still houses the sculptures and idols of Lord Buddha and Lord Parshavnatha
2) The interiors of this temple are famous for their beautiful carvings. The Annakonda Pillar is a pillar with four faces that narrates the instances from Buddhism
3) The garbhagriha of the temple houses the enchanting idol of Goddess Padmakshi that is worshiped & decorated with the marigold flowers
4) Bathukamma festival is a major festival that is celebrated here annually by the women

Padmakshi Temple is located in the hilly region of Hanamkond. It can be accessed either by trekking or hiring the cab. The local buses ply till the Hanamkond village.
