Nakuru is Kenya's 4th largest city located in the North-western part of Nairobi. It is an important agricultural city, trade center, and transportation hub for the whole of Kenya. Nakuru isn't dominated by a single tribe but several tribes. You will definitely feel the diversity in the festivals, food, events and culture. Nakuru boasts an excellent tourism infrastructure and has many interesting sights for viewing. The town continues to grow and has good hotel facilities, excellent transport system and friendly atmosphere.
The city experiences a cool and hospitable climate. The summers are dry and hot. The winters are pleasant. The months of June- February experience little showers.
The local transport network of the city is very well developed. Bus is the main means of transport for the locals here. They are easily available and quite cheap. Matatu (minibus) is also a major transport used by the people living in Nakuru. It is generally crowded and unsafe also. But most of the tourists hire a taxi or take car on rent to tour the city.
Shopping freaks might have a tough time here as the markets are few and the prices of the product are marked quite high. The sellers are very clever and decide the price according to the customers. You must bargain a lot as the owners will try their best to fetch more money from you. You can buy souvenirs from various shops to take back along.
