Day 1 : Arrival - Dar es salaam
Upon your arrival at Mwalimu Nyerere International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will assist you with your transfer to the hotel. In the evening, one of our team members will meet you at the hotel to give you a comprehensive briefing on the itinerary and the exciting activities planned for the days ahead, ensuring you are fully prepared for the adventure that awaits.
Day 2 : City tour at Dar es salaam
After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a guided tour of Dar es Salaam, exploring the vibrant heart of Tanzania’s business hub. Visit popular landmarks like Mlimani City Mall and enjoy some leisure time at the beautiful coastal beaches that line the city. Immerse yourself in the local culture with a visit to the bustling Kariakoo Market and the historical National Museum. As evening falls, experience the lively nightlife of Dar es Salaam, where the city comes alive with energy, offering a unique glimpse into its dynamic atmosphere after dark.
Day 3 : Drive to Nyerere national park
After a hearty breakfast at 8:00 am, you'll be picked up from your hotel and begin your scenic drive to Nyerere National Park. Along the way, enjoy a delightful picnic lunch before continuing your journey to one of Tanzania’s most pristine and untouched wilderness areas. In the late afternoon, you'll embark on an exhilarating boat safari along the majestic Rufiji River. As you glide through the water, you'll have the chance to observe hippos and crocodiles in their natural environment. Crocodiles will silently slip into the river as your boat nears, while hippos will emerge, grunting and releasing steam in close proximity, creating an awe-inspiring and thrilling experience.
Day 4 : Bush walking at Nyerere national park
After a hearty breakfast at the camp, you'll embark on a refreshing morning bush walk, followed by an exciting safari through Nyerere National Park. As you explore the park, you'll have the opportunity to spot wildlife along the Great Rufiji River and throughout the diverse landscapes of the park. Nyerere is renowned for its large population of elephants and buffaloes, as well as its thriving pack of wild dogs. You may also encounter other iconic species such as lions, bushbucks, impalas, giraffes, elands, baboons, zebras, kudus, and even crocodiles, making for an unforgettable wildlife experience.
Day 5 : Mikumi national park
You will be picked up from your hotel and begin your journey to Mikumi National Park for an exciting game drive, including a scenic drive along the Mkata River. Established in 1964, Mikumi is Tanzania's fourth-largest national park, covering an impressive 3,230 square kilometers. The Mkata River floodplain, a highlight of the park, offers excellent opportunities to spot a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, wild dogs, and impalas, as well as a diverse array of bird species. Located 283 kilometers from Dar es Salaam via the Morogoro route, the park is a popular destination for weekend visitors and business travelers with limited time for a safari. The drive typically takes 4 to 5 hours, making Mikumi a convenient and rewarding escape into nature.
Day 6 : Mikumi - Ruaha National park
After a delicious breakfast, you'll begin your journey to Ruaha National Park, where you'll enjoy a half-day safari. As you drive towards the park, keep an eye out for giraffes, elephants, and antelopes that may be grazing along the way. Upon arrival, you'll complete the necessary park formalities before entering the heart of Ruaha. Your safari will take you across the iconic Ruaha River, where you'll have the chance to observe hippos, crocodiles, and elephants. You may also spot predators hunting, along with a wide variety of water birds and other wildlife. After an exciting day of exploration, you'll head to Ruaha River Lodge for a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 7 : Ruaha national park
Enjoy another thrilling safari day at Ruaha NP, as you explore the diverse landscapes along the Great Ruaha River and throughout the park. As Tanzania’s second-largest national park, covering an expansive 20,226 square kilometers, Ruaha is home to a vast array of wildlife. The park's lifeblood is the Great River, which stretches for 475 kilometers and attracts large numbers of animals, especially during the dry season. The river is teeming with life, including hippos, crocodiles, and over 400 species of birds, such as the Racket-tailed Roller, Pale-billed Hornbill, Shelley’s Sunbird, and Hoopoes.
Ruaha is also renowned for its thriving population of elephants and its iconic pride of lions. Other notable species found here include giraffes, Grant’s gazelles, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, and buffaloes. The park is also a sanctuary for rare and endangered animals like the Sable Antelope, Greater Kudu, and Roan Antelope, making it a truly exceptional destination for wildlife enthusiasts.
Day 8 : Ruaha national park
There’s never enough time to fully experience the wonders of Ruaha National Park, so today you'll enjoy yet another thrilling safari, exploring the park’s diverse landscapes and searching for wildlife along the Great Ruaha River. During your adventure, you'll stop for a relaxing picnic lunch in the park, surrounded by nature’s beauty. Afterward, you’ll continue your safari, spotting even more incredible animals before heading back to the camp for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.
Day 9 : Ruaha national park - Dar es salaam
After a delicious breakfast, you’ll begin your scenic drive back to Dar es Salaam. As you journey through the landscape one last time, take in the views and reflect on the unforgettable safari experience. Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you’ll be comfortably dropped off at your hotel, marking the end of your adventure.
Day 10 : Departure
On your departure day, you’ll have some free time to explore the city before your scheduled transfer. You can take a leisurely tour of Dar es Salaam, visiting local attractions and shopping for unique souvenirs to remember your trip. When the time comes, you'll be transferred to the airport for your onward journey or return home, bringing an end to your unforgettable adventure.
