Day 1 : ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) which caters for domestic flights, you will be met by African Big Cats Safaris representative who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Day 2 : EXPLORING ARUSHA CITY + ALBINISM CENTRE
After early morning breakfast we will drive to one of the albinism centers in Arusha. People with albinism have serious vision issues—often they are considered legally blind. This factor has repercussions in education as their teachers often do not realize that their students with albinism are unable to see the blackboard well enough to keep up with other students. Classmates and teachers alike treat them with scorn as it is assumed that they are inherently stupid. Few people with albinism complete secondary school and even fewer have the opportunity to attend college or university.
After that we will visit one of the local markets and interact with the locals in Arusha before driving back to our hotel in Arusha for overnight.
Accommodation : Ilboru Safari Lodge
Meal Plan : Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3 : ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
You will be picked up by your private safari guide from your accommodation in Arusha to Tarangire which is almost 2.5 hours drive from Arusha.
Tarangire is best known for its elephant families, savannah, iconic baobab trees, seasonal swamps and the life-giving Tarangire River. Animals gather at the river and giraffe, bushbuck and hartebeest are often seen. The Park is also home to buffalo, zebra and wildebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators such as lions and leopards. From the open roof of the vehicle you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the wildlife.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, which includes a delicious lunch, coffee and soft drinks.
On Day 4 you will pass by one of the Maasai villages whereby you will get a chance to learn about their culture and customs.
You will spend 2 days in this incredible park.
Accommodation : Lake Burunge Tented Lodge
Meal Plan : Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5 : LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK TO LAKE EYASI
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park you will see monkeys, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains, but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs.
After lunch and extensive game drive you will drive to your accommodation for dinner & overnight at Lake Eyasi.
Accommodation : Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge
Meal Plan : Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 6 : LAKE EYASI ACTIVITIES
Lake Eyasi is a seasonal shallow endorheic salt lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley at the base of the Serengeti Plateau, just south of the Serengeti National Park and immediately southwest of the Ngorongoro Crater in the Crater Highlands of Tanzania. The lake is elongated, orientated southwest to northeast, and lies in the Eyasi-Wembere branch of the Great Rift Valley.
The Hadzabe Bushmen live in this region, as do the Datoga and Mbulu tribes. A visit with the Bushmen is worthwhile and they will graciously show you where and how they live and hunt. They subsist entirely off the bush and by bow hunting. Everything they use is made from local materials, including their bows which are strung with giraffe tendon and their arrows which are coated in lethal poison. Their language resembles that of Kalahari Bushmen tribe (who were featured in the 1980 film ‘The Gods Must Be Crazy’) with clicking noises used.
The Datoga and Mbulu people are pastoralists, like the Maasai people.
After your exploration, you will drive back to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation : Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge
Meal Plan : Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 7 : SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you will continue towards the fertile highlands where wheat and corn are grown by the Iraqw people. Along the way we’ll pass through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to see baboons, or even leopards and elephants in the dense undergrowth. Passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be able to see the breath-taking Ngorongoro Crater before traveling onwards to the Serengeti National Park, which you will reach by midday. The Serengeti National Park is the largest park in Tanzania with diverse landscapes and habitats, such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah and mountains. After an extensive game drive, you will drive to your accommodation where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation : Embalakai Camp
Meal Plan : Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 8 : SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
You will spend the whole day exploring the park, its animals and incredible landscapes. The Serengeti is the habitat for an abundance of wildlife, such as impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos, but is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. Apart from the migrating herds, you may see predators, such as leopards, cheetahs and lions.
After your exploration at the park, you will drive back to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation : Embalakai Camp
Meal Plan : Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 9 : SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CRATER
Early morning after breakfast, we continue with our en-route drive inside the Serengeti National Park before we depart to Ngorongoro crater. When you first see Ngorongoro Crater, it looks like a forgotten world. Concealed by the steep volcanic walls is a pristine wilderness including sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland and glistening lakes and swamps. The Crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. It is famous for both its geological delights and for being a natural reserve which is home to some of the densest large mammal populations in the whole of the African continent. The drive down the into the Crater is an adventure in itself and when you reach the Crater floor, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The Crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands.
After Lunch and an extensive game drive inside the crater, we head for our comfort partner lodges in Karatu for dinner and overnight.
