Africa honeymoon safari to the hidden gem of a reserve in southern Tanzania – Selous Game reserve combined with blissful beach experience in Quilalea Private Island located on the Quirimbas archipelago in Mozambique. The Quirimbas is most easily reached from Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, making more sense to combine this with a safari in southern Tanzania.

The best time to take this package is between June and October. At this time, rainfall is at the lowest and temperatures at their best at Quirimbas. Wildlife viewing in Selous Game Reserve is best from late June to October. It is dry season and wildlife is easier to spot since animals gather at water resources and vegetation is thinner.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival Dar Es Salaam

  Upon arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport, you are met by our representative and transfer to a hotel of your choice. Booked on Bed and breakfast. Overnight at your hotel.
• Day 2 : Flight Dar Es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

  Pick up from Dar es Salaam city center and transfer to Dar es Salaam Airport for departure on a scheduled flight to Selous Game Reserve. On arrival, you will be met by Azura Selous representative and transferred to the safari camp for lunch. This evening, you will an opportunity to participate in a game drive in the Selous. Dinner and overnight at Azura Selous.
  
  Azura Selous is a camp with lots of style, intimacy and wow factor, with stunning tented villas overlooking the Ruaha river with its resident hippo, where you have varied and exciting game drives exploring the spectacular Selous Game Reserve. Enjoy private dinners under the stars, classic and private sundowners – this is a much loved honeymoon haven. Space and privacy is our signature – this is classic authentic Africa at its very best.
• Day 3 : Selous Game Reserve

  Enjoy a full day game viewing in the reserve. Participate in some classic – style game drives – exploring the bush in customized open-side 4wd safari vehicles.
  
  Water buck, southern reed buck and bush buck are common in the Selous Reserve. Rare sable antelope, lion and greater kudu also frequent in this area. All activities, meals and overnight at Azura Selous.
• Day 4 : Selous Game Reserve

  After breakfast accompany an armed ranger on a waking safari in the reserve. The sights and sounds of a walking safari is a special treat that will long live in your memory. The thrill of creeping up to animals to “shoot” them with your camera is a great experience. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari where you will explore the different channels and lakes of the Rufiji River System, surrounded by hippos and crocodiles. A large variety of heroes, storks, ducks, stilts, and other water birds may be seen. And you also see land mammals, such as giraffe and elephants. Meals and overnight at your safari camp or lodge.
• Day 5 : Flight to Pemba

  This morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for the light aircraft flight back to Dar es Salaam. You may opt to have an early lunch before connecting a flight to Pemba, Mozambique. Upon arrival, meet and greet and transfer to Avani Pemba Beach Hotel for the night.
• Day 6 : Flight to Quirimbas Archipelago

  From Pemba, you will connect with your helicopter flight to Azura at Quilalea Private Island.
  
  Situated in the southern region of the Quirimbas Archipelago, Azura at Quilalea is a private marine sanctuary consisting of 2 spectacular tropical Indian Ocean islands, the main island being 35 hectares in size. In keeping with the uninhabited nature of the island, the retreat consists of only 9 villas, accommodating 18 guests at any one time.
• Day 7 : Quilalea Island, Quirimbas Archipelago, Mozambique

  The next 6 days are yours to relax and unwind on the beautiful Quilalea. This island has its own fully equipped for PADI scuba diving. Other activities include superb game fishing in the Mozambique channel, kayaking, island walks and spa therapies in a treatment room hanging over the sea.
  
  To protect the marine sanctuary, the island does not offer motorized water sports such as water skiing or jet bikes. A half day trip to nearby Ibo Island is also a must for those who want to experience a slice of traditional Mozambican culture.
• Day 8 : Quilalea Island, Quirimbas Archipelago, Mozambique

  The next 6 days are yours to relax and unwind on the beautiful Quilalea. This island has its own fully equipped for PADI scuba diving. Other activities include superb game fishing in the Mozambique channel, kayaking, island walks and spa therapies in a treatment room hanging over the sea.

• Day 11 : Flight Back to Dar Es Salaam

  Today you will return by helicopter to Pemba in time for your flight to Dar es Salaam where you will spend one more night in East Africa, at your hotel of choice in Dar es Salaam, mainland Tanzania, before leaving the next morning.
• Day 12 : Flight Back Home

  Today, depending on your flight schedule, will be transferred to the airport to connect with your home-bound flight.
