Day 1 : Air Port - Colombo
Ayubowan! You have arrived in Sri Lanka. We extend a warm welcome to you. You will be met at the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport by a representative from Experior Travels. Your dream vacation has just begun. You will be escorted to your vehicle for travel to Colombo, the starting point of a memorable vacation.
Colombo is the official political and trade capital of Sri Lanka. All the famous shopping arcades are in and around the city, which allows one to have a tantalizing experience in Colombo as it has something to offer every visitor. As a hub of many ethnicities with people from all creeds working together, Colombo is indeed cosmopolitan.

Day 2 : Colombo - Katharagama
After an early breakfast leave for Kataragama, the seat of government of many Sinhalese kings during the days of Rohana kingdom. Since the 1950s, the city has undergone many improvements with successive governments investing in public transportation, medical facilities, and hotel infrastructure. Kataragama is a pilgrimage town sacred to Buddhist, Hindu and indigenous Vedda people of Sri Lanka. People from South India also come here to worship.
Although Kataragama was a small village in medieval times, today it is a fast-developing township surrounded by jungle in the southeastern region of Sri Lanka. It houses the ancient Kiri Vehera Buddhist stupa. The town has a venerable history dating back to the last centuries BCE and also it adjoins the popular Yala National Park
In the afternoon you will be going on an exciting safari into the wilderness of Yala National Park. Yala is Sri Lanka’s most popular wild life safari destination. 1250 sq km of protected park is home to leopards, crocodile, elephant, deer, sambar, bear, wild boar, wild buffalo, peacock and may varieties of birds including migratory birds such as flamingos. The uniqueness of the park is its many different habitat and diverse eco systems such as dense jungles, lagoons and open park areas, a beautiful sea front and rocky outcrops.
Your best chance to see a leopard is generally first thing in the morning and then again at dusk . The male leopards are fearless animals and they are often see walking on the vehicle trails during the day giving you some excellent opportunities for prize photographs.

Day 3 : Yala - Nuwara Eliya
Travel to Nuwara Eliya, the emerald city of Sri Lanka, also known as ”little England” for its cool climate and colonial style architecture. It is located at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) above sea level which enables her plantations to produce the finest tea in the world. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Piduruthalagala (8282) is located here. Nuwara Eliya also has one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia.

Day 4 : Nuwara Eliya - Kandy
Travel to Kandy – a World Heritage city where traditions and culture remains undisturbed by European influence in the colonial era. The Royal Palace called ”The Temple of Tooth Relic” situated alongside the lake gives a magical beauty to the city

Day 5 : Kandy - Pinnawala - Peradeniya – Kandy
Kandy is also home to one of the largest botanical gardens in South East Asia. The Peradeniya Gardens which dates back to the 14th century has over 4000 plant species and numerous historical trees including the Cannonball Tree planted by King George V of the UK. The tree is bent with fruits, which resemble cannonballs hence the name.
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage – started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded elephants is in close proximity to Kandy. The number of elephants has increased to more than 65 now; including Baby Elephants brought from various parts, as well as the 23 babies born, as a result of the captive breeding program. The best time is visit is the feeding time from 0930‐1000 hrs and 1330‐1400 hrs; also bath time from 1000‐1030 hrs and 1400‐1430 hrs when all the elephants are taken to the river close by.

Day 6 : Kandy - Matale - Dambulla - Habarana
After breakfast, proceed to Habarana. Enroute visit a Spice Garden in Matale to see many different types of spices Sri Lanka is famous for. Just 25 km from Kandy, the Matale spice gardens are among the best in the island. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. You will also be able to purchase spices at good prices.

Visit the cave temples in Dambulla (circa 1st century BC): a World Heritage Site.
Visit a spice garden in Matale.

Day 7 : Habarana - Anuradhapura - Akurana - Habarana
Today you will travel to Anuradhapura an ancient capital of Sri Lanka. Ancient writings record that it has been the official capital from the 4thcentury BC – 11th century AD. However archeological data shows the city existed from way back as 10th century BC. Today Anuradhapura with its oldest ruins and monuments has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and draws visitors from all over the globe.

Day 8 : Habarana - Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya - Habarana
Today you will travel to Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya located in Sri Lanka’s famous cultural triangle which offers plenty to fire both mind and body over the next few days. Explore some of Sri Lanka’s fascinating UNESCO protected World Heritage Sites: the lion rock of Sigiriya – a royal capital city built in 477 AD; the ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa, which was Sri Lanka’s royal medieval capital between the 11th – 13th centuries. You might also consider a safari at Minneriya National Park when you visit Polonnaruwa or an adventurous elephant safari at Habarana

Day 9 : Habarana - Trincomalee
Today you will travel to Trincomalee – the finest natural harbour in the world. Trincomalee is quite literally in a world of its own – a grand city enriched with history, culture and untamed beauty. It myriad coves and bays offers an ideal location for scuba diving, bird watching and swimming whilst its stretch of wide, white sandy beaches invites you to a game on the sands or a snooze under the umbrella of the palm leaves. Trincomalee is a proud city with its legendary Koneshwaram temple and the legacy of colonialism and their forts still in grandeur.
Beyond all this, the waters of Trincomalee has been designated as the hot spot for whales. Famed cetalogist Roger Payne said that you have to go to Sri Lanka if you want to see the whale! The film “Whales Weep Not” filmed in the waters of Trincomalee inspires conservation and sustainable tourism of these amazing cetaceans.
