One has to visit to see and believe it.
Day 5 : Ngorongoro Crater
Breakfast at the Camp. After breakfast, descend onto the crater floor for full day game drive in this beautiful caldera. his magnificent location can be home to approximately 30’000 animals at any given time, and thanks to the crater’s multiple habitats the diversity of the game here is second to none. One particular species that’s worth mentioning that you may encounter here is the endangered Black Rhino, as a small population of this beautiful animal is thriving in this idyllic and protected environment. The crater floor consists of several different habitats that include grassland, swamps, forests, and Lake Makat (Maasai for ‘salt’) – a central soda lake filled by the Munge River. All these various environments attract wildlife to drink, wallow, graze, hide, or climb. Although animals are free to move in and out of this contained environment, the rich volcanic soil, lush forests, and spring source lakes on the crater floor (combined with fairly steep crater sides) tend to incline both grazers and predators to remain throughout the year. Lunch will be served at a picnic site. P.M. continue with game drive, ascend onto the rim of the crater for dinner and overnight at Angáta Ngorongoro Camp
Day 6 : Ngorongoro - Olduvai Gorge - Serengeti National Park
After a healthy breakfast you will proceed to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge - Olduvai is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area a World Heritage Site famous for its natural and cultural resources. If time permits you will as well visit the Shifting Sand area as well. Then proceed towards central Serengeti for dinner and overnight at Angáta Serengeti Camp.
Day 7 : Serengeti National Park
Breakfast at the Camp. Then proceed for a full day game drive at central Serengeti National Park. Serengeti National Park, in northern Tanzania, is known for its massive annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Seeking new pasture, the herds move north from their breeding grounds in the grassy southern plains. Many cross the marshy western corridor’s crocodile-infested Grumeti River. Others veer northeast to the Lobo Hills, home to black eagles. Lunch will be served at the camp or you could collect packed lunch so that you can have enough time to explore the area. Return for dinner and overnight later in the evening for dinner and overnight at Angáta Serengeti Camp
Day 8 : Serengeti Central - Ndutu Area
Breakfast at the Camp. After breakfast continue with game drive as you exit the park to Ndutu area. The south-eastern part of the Serengeti, the Ndutu area, is rich in wildlife all year round, but wildlife numbers reach a peak between December and April. Huge herds of wildebeests and zebras are attracted by the seasonal rains. In this period, the best area for game viewing is the plains around Lake Ndutu, where the wildebeest herds are concentrated. Most calves are born in January and February, around 8,000 per day. The short grass plains offer them some safety, as predators can be spotted more easily. Nevertheless, as happens in nature, these young wildebeest attract many hungry predators, such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas. Other species such as gazelles and zebras also give birth and use the wildebeest calves as cover to divert attention from their own young. The area also caters for birdwatchers; the Thorny Tree forests are the habitat of yet other birds and if you pay attention you may see the fantastically coloured Fischer's Lovebird. Arrive in time for lunch. P.M game drive in the park. All meals and overnight at Angáta Migration Camp or similar. (Full board)
Day 9 : Ndutu area
Full day game drive around Ndutu area. A big draw of the Ndutu Region is to see the full circle of the Great Migration, from the return of the herds to graze in December, and then the calving which takes place in January and February, and then the departure of the herds again in April as they start making their journey northwards. Calving season is particularly dramatic: a million wildebeest give birth to 8000 babies every day, and as these newborns take their first steps, they’re targeted by lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.
The prime game viewing spot in the Ndutu Region is around Lake Ndutu, where enormous herds congregate between December and April to graze and calve. The forests and granite kopjes around Lake Ndutu are also home to lots of game outside of the migration months. Sightings of six species of cats – leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, African wildcat and serval – are a big highlight of visiting the Ndutu Region. You can spot the cats throughout the year, but the best viewing is during the calving months of January and February, when these predators pick on the fledgling baby animals. All meals and overnight at Angáta Migration Camp
