Travel across the length and breadth of this wonderful country, with a cruise on the Nile River, viewing the Murchison Falls, chimpanzees in Kibale Forest, wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park, gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and ending with some relaxation at the source of the Nile; this is an incredible way to spend 2 weeks of your life.
Day 1 : Arrive Entebbe
On Arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by a Guesthouse representative and transferred to your lodge where you will spend 1 night.
Day 2 : Entebbe - Murchison Falls
You will be collected by your guide this morning, and depart for Murchison Falls National Park, where your exciting safari experience begins. This afternoon you will visit the Falls themselves, before heading to your tented lodge located ideally along the banks of the mighty Nile.
Day 3 : Murchison Falls National Park
This morning will be spent on a game drive on the northern side of the Nile, on the savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park. In the afternoon you will travel upstream on a boat cruise taking you below the Falls, while showing you elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, birdlife and the highest concentration of hippos in Africa.
Day 4 : Murchison Falls - Lake Albert
Leaving Murchison Falls this morning you will drive along Lake Albert to the Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve, where you will spend the night on the clifftops overlooking the DRC across the lake. You will have a bush dinner in the reserve, before watching the lights of the fishermen twinkling across the lake as if the stars were shining from beneath the dark waters.
Day 5 : Lake Albert - Kibale
Following a walking safari this morning you will depart to Fort Portal from where you will continue into the Kibale National Park, one of the most beautiful in Uganda. You will spend 2 nights here in the forest which is home to abundant primate species and lush and diverse flora.
Day 6 : Kibale National Park
You start your day at 05h30 when the forest opens its doors for a sensational full day Chimp Habituation Experience which will enable you to learn about their lifestyle. Kibale Forest is known for having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The behaviour of the babies will be adorable while the older males do their very best to impress. Experience how they feed and interact as a family, and listen to their chatter and observe how they quarrel and make up again. Between 18h30 and 19h30 the chimpanzees start nesting again, when you will make your way back out of the forest.
Day 7 : Kibale - Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast you will depart the Kibale Forest at a leisurely pace via the Crater Lakes Area to Kasese Town, the second most populous center in Western Uganda. From Kasese, you will cross the Equator as the road passes though the Queen Elizabeth National Park – Uganda Cobs are abundant and you may be able to observe elephants or buffaloes in the distance. After lunch you will head out to spend the afternoon on a game drive.
Day 8 : Queen Elizabeth National Park
This morning will be spent on a game drive, and in the afternoon you will enjoy a cruise on the Kazinga Channel.
Day 9 : Queen Elizabeth National Park ~ Bwindi
You will make your way through the south eastern Ishasha section of Queen Elizabeth National Park, and continue through breathtaking scenery to the town of Kisoro, on the southern side of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Day 10 : Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
One of the major highlights of any African journey takes place today, as you enter Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for your gorilla trek. The hike may be strenuous, but the hour spent with these rare and remarkable creatures will more than make up for any sore muscles or tired limbs.
Day 11 : Bwindi - Kampala
It is a long drive today as you make your way back to Kampala, after an early breakfast. The beautiful rolling hills of Uganda dominate the landscape, and the long day is full of scenic delights. You will arrive in Kampala in the early evening, and spend 1 night at your lodge here.
Day 12 : Kampala - Jinja
After breakfast you will be transferred to Jinja, where you will spend the next 2 nights, allowing for some relaxation on the banks of the Nile, or for the more active, numerous excursions can be arranged.
Day 13 : Jinja
You will have the full day in Jinja today.
Day 14 : Day of Departure
You will be transferred back to Entebbe International Airport today in time for your departure flight out of Uganda.
