  Leave for northeast out of the city to the visit the famous Golden Ring – a series of charming, medieval fortified cities and towns. Built just after the death of the Grand Prince Vladimir, the towns attracted power and wealth from Moscow – leading them to be called, collectively, the Golden Ring. The nearest Golden Ring town to Moscow is Sergiev Posad, just an hour’s drive from the capital. Like many medieval Russian settlements, the town took its name from a saint, and in this case it was St Sergius of Radonezh – the country’s patron saint and the man who founded the town’s 14th-century Orthodox monastery. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Trinity Lavra Monastery of St Sergius is an active monastery to this day, and you’ll see many of its resident monks while exploring inside. A complex of different churches and buildings that stretch around the town, the monastery is colossal in terms of its size, history and religious significance; the name ‘Lavra’ denotes the highest rank of Orthodox monasteries in Russia. Learn about St Sergius, who changed from hermit to saint, and see his silver shrine surrounded by the artwork of legendary medieval painter Andrei Rublev.
  Continue sightseeing around the complex, exploring its ramparts and churches. Hear tales of the Lavra’s history, when it became embroiled in controversy during wars with the Mongolians and Polish, and see incredible cathedrals such as the Cathedral of the Assumption with its eye-catching façade. After exploring the site with your guide, return to your vehicle and head back to Moscow.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• What is a SEAT IN COACH/SHARED BUS Sightseeing or Transfer (also known as SIC)
• SIC transfers mean SEAT IN COACH - you will be provided a seat in a coach where other passengers will be travelling along with you. This transportation is economical and operates at conveniently arranged fixed times. You may have to wait for minimum of 20 - 45 minutes for Seat in Coach transfers/Sightseeing.
• SIC transfers will be applicable only from 0700hrs- 2300hrs. If the flight arrives earlier or later than these timings we will have to provide private transfers with an extra cost. (Conditions apply)
• Time allocated to each Sightseeing on the itinerary and rules pertaining to the same as communicated by the Local Guide/Driver would be final and binding on all customers in the coach. We recommend our guests to kindly be present in the lobby and meet the local guide/driver at least 15mins before the departure time given in your welcome kit. If you miss the coach for any reason it will be considered as a NO SHOW and no refund will be available.
• Please note your coach may also collect other passengers from various different hotels just like how you joined the coach and we request your patience and cooperation for the same. Pick up vehicle and final sightseeing vehicle may differ in certain countries and you may be expected to change the vehicle in certain countries
• SIGHTSEEING ON SIC IN EUROPE: Please note meeting point will be advised from where the tour starts. Hotel pick up and Drop off are not included. In Swiss the excursions are done through the train on own. Excursion in Swiss are without any guide service.
• What is a PRIVATE Sightseeing or Transfer
• Private transfer means a dedicated vehicle with OR without a guide, for a particular sightseeing or transfer. Private transfers are the most efficient way to travel. You will be taken directly to and from your accommodation without detour and without the need to change vehicles at any point. Private transfers do not mean a vehicle at disposal. Customers are required to strictly adhere to the timings fixed for the vehicle even in case of a private sightseeing or transfer.

• Please note in Europe due to Fire Regulation Act the maximum occupancy in each room is 3 passengers. Even if the configuration is 2 adults + 2 kids below 12 years of age. Only few hotels allow 4 people in one room.
