Few westerners visit Bhutan's central Bumthang district with its four sacred valleys. Fewer still venture to far eastern Bhutan with its distinctive peoples, culture and its rich natural history. The 15-day tour offers a rare insight of the entire country of Bhutan including Paro, Thimpu, Punakha, the sacred Bumthang valleys and the rarely seen Eastern Bhutan.

After exploring the Paro and Thimpu's craft centers Dzongs, and over the Dochu La to top at Bhutan's ancient capital of Punakha where the great Punakha Dzong stands at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mho Cho Rivers. Continuing westwards we visit the alpine the alpine valley of Phobjikha where we will visit the Gangtey Gompa and then on to Trongsa and then to Jakar, Bumthang's main village. This is Bhutan's most sacred valleys, hallowed 1,200 years ago by the visits of Padmasambhava the great Buddhist guru also knows as the Guru Rimpoche.

After exploring the villages, monasteries the famous Ya-tha weavers of this area we drive to little known towns of Mongar and Trashigang. Hidden deep within this remote valley is Tashi Yangtse and sacred Chorten Kora. In the end we drive out of Bhutan to Guhwahti airport in Assam in India from where flights available to Delhi and Calcutta.

• Day 1 : Arrive Bhutan

  Fly Bangkok/Delhi/Nepal to Paro, Bhutan. Afternoon visit Museum and Paro Town. Hotel. Overnight hotel in Paro.

• Day 2 : Paro Sightseeing

  Paro Valley sightseeing. Overnight same.

• Day 3 : Paro Sightseeing

  Hike to Taktsang Monastery. Overnight hotel same.

• Day 4 : Paro - Thimpu

  Drive to Thimphu. Afternoon tour of capital city, Thimphu.

• Day 5 : Thimphu

  Morning tour of Thimphu. Afternoon free.

• Day 6 : Punakha Sightseeing

  Drive to Punakha. Sightseeing of Punakha & Wangdi Valleys. Overnight hotel in Punakha.

• Day 7 : Phobjika Valley

  rive to Gangtey Gompa, Phobjikha Valley. Overnight hotel in Phobjikha.

• Day 8 : Trongsa

  Drive to Trongsa. Overnight hotel in Trongsa.

• Day 9 : Trongsa - Jakar - Bumthang

  Morning visit Trongsa Dzong. Drive to Jakar, Bumthang.

• Day 10 : Bumthang Sightseeing

  Bumthang Valley sightseeing. Overnight Bumthang.

• Day 11 : Mongar

  Drive to Mongar. Overnight hotel in Mongar.

• Day 12 : Trshigang

  Drive to Trashigang. Afternoon visit Trashigang Town and Dzong. Overnight hotel in Trashigang.

• Day 13 : Tashi Yangtse

  Excursion to Tashi Yangtse and Chorten Kora. Hotel in Trasnigang.

• Day 14 : Samdrup Jongkhar

  Samdrup Jongkhar( Boarder town) Drive to Samdrup Jongkhar, the eastern border town. Overnight hotel in S/jongkhar.

• Day 15 : Departure From Bhutan

  Drive to Guwahati Airport in India. Fly to Calcutta or Delhi. Connect to onward flight. End of tour.
