Day 1 : Kalahari Desert
You will be met by your private guide when you arrive and they will be with you all the way to the end of the safari. Today you will drive south from Windhoek to your lodge for the evening, which is in the Kalahari Desert about 3 hours south of Windhoek. You can spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or if you prefer optional extra activities for the afternoon include a quad-bike drive or a bushman walk.
Day 2 : Fish River Canyon
Today you will head south via Mariental and Keetmanshoop to the Karas region, the Fish River Canyon area. On route you will detour to the Quiver Tree Forest, a beautiful site where thee large aloes grow between rocks. If time permits, you will visit the Fish River view point at sunset … which just makes you feel so small.
Day 3 : Lüderitz / Ghost Town
Over the next 2 days you will have chance to visit the Fish River Canyon before driving east to a small town called Aus. Whilst staying here the lodge offers a few optional extra activities like walks, nature drives, and you can possibly see the desert adapted horses! A full day is set aside for a self-drive excursion to Lüderitz and in particular, the amazing Kolmanskop Ghost Town.
Day 4 : Lüderitz / Ghost Town
Over the next 2 days you will have chance to visit the Fish River Canyon before driving east to a small town called Aus. Whilst staying here the lodge offers a few optional extra activities like walks, nature drives, and you can possibly see the desert adapted horses! A full day is set aside for a self-drive excursion to Lüderitz and in particular, the amazing Kolmanskop Ghost Town.
Day 5 : Namib Desert
For the next part of the tour you will drive north along some of the most spectacular desert scenery to your lodge for the next 2 nights. Your guide will wake you up for an early breakfast and you will then head to the entrance to Sossusvlei, the Sesriem Gate. Normally a whole day is spent in the beautiful Sossusvlei area, Dead Pan, Hidden Vlei as well as Dune 45 and the Sesriem Gorge. It is your choice whether you return to the lodge for lunch or arrange a lunch pack to enjoy in the dunes and return late afternoon for a well-earned rest.

The Namibian coastline is generally known as The Skeleton Coast due to the barren areas, ship wrecks and, in days gone by, whale skeletons left on the beach. Day 9 : Damaraland
Today you head north along the Skeleton Coast, via Henties Bay to visit the Cape Cross seal colony. Along the way, stop at the Lichen Fields as well as the ship wreck between the colourful small town of Vlotskasbaken and Henties Bay. You then backtrack to Henties Bay and head inland through wide open plains to Uis, then north to the Twyfelfontein area. Late afternoon (or tomorrow morning) visit Namibia’s Open Air Museum, the Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings as well as the interesting Organ Pipes rock formations and Burnt Mountain. Your guide will take your for a drive west to the Huab River to look for the desert adapted elephants as well as other game such as oryx, springbok, ostrich and lots more.
Day 10 : Opuwo
Today head north and cross the Hoanib River, up and over Joubert Pass to Opuwo, the centre of “Kaokoland”. This is a small typical African town where a range of different people live from the traditional Himba tribes to Herero, Damara and Owambo cultures. Along the way stop at various villages to interact with and photograph the local people. Please just remember to first ask “permission” and do pay for this in cash (local currency) and/or food stuff like maize meal, sugar, tea and so on.
Day 11 : Epupa Falls/Himba Tribes
Today takes you way north to the border with Angola and the beautiful Epupa Falls. Here you will spend 2 nights, of which a full day is set aside to visit some tradiational Himba villages (not touristic … they live there permananetly), view the falls and hike along the Kunene River.

Day 13 : Etosha West Side
This morning drive back to Opuwo then south to the western edge of the Etosha National Park. Arrival here will be early afternoon and if you wish, you can join an afternoon or evening game drive (optional extra).
Day 14 : Etosha South Side
After breakfast, enter Etosha at the western Galton Gate, and do a full morning game drive to Okaukuejo and exit Etosha at the southern gate, Anderson gate. You have 2 nights here which gives a full day for this lovely area and you can do a full day’s drive, or alternate with AM and PM drives into Etosha. Etosha is one of Africa's great game parks. With 114 species of mammal and 340 species of birds you are sure to see a great variety of wildlife on your safari.
Day 15 : Etosha East Side
Day 15 is a full day game drive as you drive slowly east through the Etosha Park stopping at numerous waterholes along the way. The first stop would be Okaukuejo where you pay your entry fee and I suggest you pop in at the local shop to purchase some drinks and snacks and most importantly, a map of Etosha which will show you all the waterholes along the way. Take a slow drive in the morning and ending for lunch at the Halali Resort which is half way between Okaukuejo and the eastern exit gate Day 16 is a full day’s drive, or alternate with AM and PM drives into Etosha.

Day 17 : Central Namibia
Today head south via Otavi and Otjiwarongo turning off to the Waterberg Plateau. Depending on your arrival time you can enjoy afternoon coffee and cake. Optional extra activities that you could par-take in are going on a guided plateau hike or a nature trail, or a rhino drive (guests must arrive before 15:00).
Day 18 : Windhoek – Tour ends
Today you head back to Windhoek (about 4 hours) and your guide will drop you at the airport again where this safari ends … bear in mind that if you are flying out today, the airport is about 1 hour beyond Windhoek, and you need to add 2 hours pre departures so any outbound flight must be late afternoon or evening.
