Cherrapunji, also known as Sohar, is a small town in Meghalaya, around 50 km from the state’s capital, Shillong. Before Mawsynram, Cherrapunji was the planet’s wettest place, and it proudly holds the title of recording the ‘highest recorded rainfall in a year’. However, there is so much more in Cherrapunji than just rain. ‘Cherrapunji’ literally means ‘land of oranges’.

Dwelled in rich flora and fauna, Cherrapunji is one of the most loved places by newlyweds. Travelers can visit the infamous double-decker living root bridge, Thangkharang Park and explore natural caves like Mawsmai Caves. At Cherrapunji, nature enthusiasts can witness the breathtaking view of Nohkalikai and Seven Sisters Waterfalls,

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : SHILLONG CHERRAPUNJEE SHILLONG

  On arrival, we will be visiting text book famous Cherrapunji, where the sign 'the rainiest place on planet Earth' greets you. We will cover all the spots in Cherrapunji including Elephant Falls, Valley View Point, Arwah cave, Nohkalikai Waterfalls, Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sister Falls, Eco Park, Garden of caves etc. After the full day of excitements we will stay at our hotel in Shillong.

• Day 2 : Shillong

  After breakfast, Then, we will take you to Shillong, which is known as "The Scotland of the East". With a momo stop at Umiam Lake and the slight intoxication from the betel nuts the excitement continues. We check out at our hotel in Shillong. we will be on a local sightseeing of the city including Lady Hydari Park, Wards Lake, police bazaar, Don Bosco, Catheral church.
