Day 1 : Arrival in Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport early in the morning by your driver-guide. After a scenic drive (approximately 5-6 hours), you will reach Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival, check in to your mid-range lodge where you will enjoy lunch and take in the stunning surroundings.
After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara. The reserve is home to a vast array of wildlife, including the Big Five, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and much more. Depending on the season, you may also witness the dramatic spectacle of the Great Migration, as hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River in search of fresh grazing. The Mara is also famous for its predators, so there are plenty of opportunities to see lions, leopards, and cheetahs in action.

Day 2 : Early Morning Game Drive – Return to Nairobi
On the second day, you will start with an early morning game drive to maximize your chances of spotting wildlife. The early morning is an excellent time to observe predators hunting and herbivores grazing, making it the best time for wildlife photography. The landscape of the Masai Mara is perfect for a dramatic sunrise, with acacia trees, wide-open plains, and rolling hills.
After the game drive, return to your lodge for breakfast and check out. You’ll then begin your final game drive on the way out of the reserve, exploring different parts of the Mara. The early morning light often creates fantastic photo opportunities, with animals such as lions, elephants, and wildebeest appearing in the golden glow of the rising sun.
Following the game drive, start the drive back to Nairobi (approximately 5-6 hours). You will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home, or you can choose to extend your stay in Nairobi if desired.
