Baikal has boundless lands, but you can explore it not only by car, but also on foot. This tour is a great opportunity to walk through Siberian taiga forest, covered Sacred Lake shores. We will walk for 18 km from Listvyanka to goldminers' village of Bolshiye Koty. During summer this is the only way to go there (except boat), this helps to keep its ecology really clean.
HIGHLIGHTS
Follow the Great Baikal Trail going by the lake shore
Climb to Scriper Rock with magnificient view to Baikal and surrounding mountains
Drive on hydrofoil and understand the history of local gold miners
Visit small village which was a place of gold miners in the past.

Departure from Irkutsk
We will pick you up at any place in the city and start our tour. We will tell you about construction of Transsiberian railway and dam, Great Tea Way of the past and development of Irkutsk.

Arrival in Listvyanka. Stop at Shman Rock.
Shaman stone (do not be confused with Shamanka Rock) is an underwater rock in the middle of outfall of Angara river, now sticking out for 1 meter above the water. This is a sacred place, and local shamans used to make there some rituals.

Start of trekking by Great Baikal Trail.
We will take our backpacks at this point and start walking part through taiga forest. First up- and then downhill, then following the rocky trail by the shore, built by volunteers from different countries.

Stop from a lunch
We will stop for a lunch at sand beach, where you can swim while the guide is cooking meals on fire.

Arrival in Bolshiye Koty
We will come to the village at evening, and stay at Lesnaya Guesthouse. Dinner (included) and Russian sauna ("banya", optional).

Breakfast
After the breakfast we will come for about 7 km by the trail till Scriper Rock, from there you can see a great view to the lake and surrounding mountains of Baikal National Park. Little lower from top, explorers found a stay of ancient man, some stone arrows, knife and leather. Before the rock there is a good pebble beach, which is popular during summer. Free time for swimming and walking.

Coming back to Bolshiye Koty village
We will come back to the village for lunch (included) and still have some time for beach or visit of local museum before the hydrofoil.

Departure to Listvyanka by hydrofoil, from Listvyanka to Irkutsk - by car or van
We will take hydrofoil on the way back and enjoy the view of the taken path from the side of the lake. The rest of the road from Listvyanka we will drive by car or van.

Arrival in Irkutsk
We will arrive in Irkutsk around 20:00 and take you to any place in the city
