Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Kitulo National Park

Arrive at Mbeya (the nearest major town) either via domestic flight or road transfer.
Travel to Kitulo National Park (~2.5-hour drive from Mbeya).
Check into a nearby lodge or campsite at the park boundary.
Enjoy a leisurely guided walking tour to explore the park's unique flora. Kitulo is home to over 350 plant species, including wild orchids, proteas, and a variety of endemic flowers. Best visited during the rainy season (November to April) when the flowers bloom.

Hiking & Bird watching

After breakfast, embark on a hike through the scenic grasslands and forested areas of Kitulo. Popular hiking trails include the Matamba Ridge Trail which offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and valleys.
Picnic lunch in the park.
Continue hiking while observing the unique bird species found in the park. Kitulo is home to some rare bird species such as the Denham’s bustard and Blue swallow, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
Return to your accommodation for a stay and relaxing

Day 2 : Visit to Livingstone Mountains & Departure

After breakfast, take a short trip to the Livingstone Mountains near the park. Enjoy a morning hike or simply appreciate the natural beauty and scenic views of these towering formations.
Return to your lodge, check out, and transfer back to Mbeya for your onward travel.
If you wish to extend your trip, consider exploring Lake Nyasa (Lake Malawi) or nearby Ruaha National Park for more wildlife adventures.
